Finally Here Part 2

One of the great things about being up so early was remembering that all my friends and family were behind several hours and were still hadn't gone to bed. I was able to video chat with family and several friends. I have never been more thankful for technology!!! It really helps me to stay connected and not feel so far away. I was reminded again how precious my family are to me and how blessed I am to have the friends I have. They have been so supportive every step of the way and it's so comforting knowing I can call them at anytime of the day and they would be there for me. Here is a pic of me chatting with one of the best people you'll ever meet.

Before I knew it, I was boarding my last flight to Maseru, the capital of Lesotho. It was a very quick 50 minutes and then the flight attendant announced we were making our initial approach into Maseru. I could have kicked myself for packing my ipad away and not having it with me so I could snap pictures of the beautiful landscape. It was seriously amazing!!!! We landed into the tiniest airport and there were even some locals outside waving at us as we arrived....I have to say I felt pretty special, and I also got the biggest smile on my face. I was once again reminded that I was following exactly what God had for me and stepping into my destiny. Time and time again throughout my trip here I have been taken over with the most amazing sense of peace. There is truly no greater feeling.

As all 5 people piled out of the tiny plane, we collected our bags and stood in 1 small line that was "customs." I fetched the rest of my bags and then was greeted by Charles & Sonya Martinez. Sonya is the Africa Director of the Beautiful Dream Society. I instantly felt at home and ready to take on this new season of life. We chatted about all the exciting things happening in BDS and then our first stop was the shelter. I could not get out of the car quick enough...I couldn't wait to see the girls. I was greeted and received many hugs and kisses, and also got the privilege of meeting the newest resident at the shelter. Each girl is from a different country and it's amazing how quickly each person bonds to everyone once they arrive. It truly is a "Love House" as one of the residents deemed it.

After spending some time at the shelter we came to the staff house where I saw my new living quarters. Its quite quaint to say the least, but I'm so grateful to have my own space where I'll be able to unwind and uplug. I also met 2 women from Corpus Christi that have been here on a short term missions trip. It's so crazy how quickly everyone bonds here. I instantly felt comfortable around them and like I had known them for years. I then headed to bed and was amazing how well I slept. My first trip here I got horrible jet-lag and didn't sleep well for about 5 days. Once again the Lord is taking care of me.

Since I've written a small novel, I'll leave you with this. My mom emailed me this scripture yesterday and I thought it was perfect to describe this new season.

"What is my hope or joy or crown in the presence of the Lord at his coming?  It is in the people in whose lives I have been privileged to have a ministry."
(I Thessalonians 2:19-20)

Thank you for everyone that has prayed, financial given, encouraged me thru texts, emails, heytells, twitter, instagram, and every other form of technology we have!! I am overwhelmed with the love I've received.

Until next time.
