Wow!! It has been quite a while since I have blogged. So much has happened since my last entry so let me very briefly fill you in on the craziness that is my life:):)
After fulfilling my year commitment in Lesotho, I came back to the states to spend time with my family and regroup. It was so wonderful being with friends and family for the holidays. I was able to travel to see friends in California & Oklahoma. During my travels, I was reminded how blessed I am to have friends all over America that are literally changing the culture around them & doing incredible things in ministry. Also one of my dearest friends just left her great paying job in Orange County, California to serve & do mission work for the next 11 months in 11 different countries. I have such incredible friends!!
One of the most exciting things was getting to host one of my dear friends from Lesotho here in the states for 3 weeks. It was her first time on an airplane and she pulled off the 17 hour flight from Johannesburg to Atlanta like a pro!! We did what every person should experience at least once in their life....WE WENT TO DISNEYWORLD!! It was so fun to watch her experience everything for the first time. I had a permanent smile glued to my face the entire time she was here..what fun!! Here are some pics for you to enjoy!!
Here is Dinny arriving in America!! USA USA USA!!!
This is Dinny and I at Animal Kingdom at Disneyworld!!
Her first time trying sushi. Verdict?......she loved it!!
So many of you have asked...."What's next for you?". I am thrilled to let you know that I will be heading back to Lesotho to work a 2nd year with Beautiful Dream Society!!! The original plan was to head back late May/early June, but with some of the transition happening there, I have been asked to come back in April! I cannot wait to get back to my 2nd home and the people I love so dearly. With that, does come some things that need to line up pretty quickly on my end.
I have gotten a job which I must say was extremely hard to do! Telling employers that I will only be here for a couple of months doesn't exactly make me a "sought-after employee." I did however, meet the most amazing couple that have just had a baby, and I will be nannying for them during my last few months in America.
So here is the big ask.....
1. Prayers - I need your prayers more than anything. The spiritual warfare that takes place while on "the field" is no joke and there were times I could literally "feel" people lifting me up in prayer. This is needed more than you know.
2. Finances - I literally could not do what God has called me to do without amazing people stepping up to the plate. I was continually amazing at God's faithfulness time and time again last year. There are several ways you can give:
a) Thru the BDS website - Simply go to beautifuldream.tv and
click on the "give" button. You will have the choice to give a
one-time donation or set up a re-occurring monthly donation. Please make sure to specify my name in the "notes" section when entering your information on paypal.
b) To me directly - I understand you do not receive a tax break by giving this way, but it does free up some finances for me to be able to take care of financial responsibilities on this end before heading out to Lesotho. Any monies given thru the BDS website, I will not have access to until I am actually in Lesotho.
At the top right corner of this blog, you can click on the "donate" link and give directly thru there. If you would like to write a check you can send them to:

Please know that every little bit helps and is appreciated more than you know. Thank you to each of you that have prayed & given towards this journey thus far. I am so blessed to be able to do this. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
P.S. If you would like to stay up to date with my journey, please email me at bdsmelissa@gmail.com with your name and address so I can add you to the mailing list.
Continuing the journey,
Melissa
